
In The Beginning
2019-2020
Brendon Luo was just 12 years old when he created The Van Soles on October 2nd, 2019, an e-commerce business focusing on the distribution of the secondary market of sneakers and apparel and the first subsidiary company under the now larger Bron Distribution. Brendon had little-to-no work experience leading up to the creation of The Van Soles, and with just a couple hundred dollars saved up from birthdays and other celebrations, it was a struggle. For the first few years, he was just trying to figure out how the business worked, and took big losses in the beginning, losing nearly all of the intial capital.
Despite the hardships, he was consistent. Brendon was willing to learn, take critisicm, and give it his all. In 2020, he began receiving his first few sales and signs of success from other local sellers and larger marketplaces like StockX.
2021
In 2021, Brendon really focused on getting to know his competition, common business practices, and general business ediquette. Everyday, he spent a lot of time trying to message as many different people in Canada and the USA as he could by joining different communities with like-minded individuals. Majority of his most valuable connections and friends would be made during this time, giving him the confidence to consistently take calculated risks, to try and expand into new markets and sell different products. After seeing the success of his peers during this year, and how vastly larger their growth was relative to his, he knew there was more to be done. This was also the year that The Van Soles acheive over 6 figures in lifetime revenue.
2022
In 2022, Brendon kept scaling up his operation. Everyday, he was spending hours on social media trying to meet new sellers, find more deals, and study the market. With the help of bots, he was able to source even more higher margin sneakers to sell. In the meanwhile, during his summer break, Brendon would wake up at 8am almost everyday, take the 1hr+ long transit ride to downtown Vancouver and get there at 9:30-10am. Until 6pm everyday, he'd be outside with a group of other like-minded resellers lining up at a bunch of different retail stores to purchase the latest drops. In this year, his revenue and profits increased by over 200%, doing over $175,000k in revenue this year. Later on, Brendon would discover online arbritrage and completely change his expectations of the coming year
2023
2023 saw the largest growth out of any year. This year was when Brendon learned how to create a system for sourcing, selling, and the fulfillment of merchandise. With these systems, he was able to take advantage of many more opportunities. It was this year where the creation of BHL Club, our second subsidary, was created that focused on selling on platforms like Amazon. Though Brendon found intial success of balancing both of the businesses while simultaneously growing both of them, he found that finding time to do other things was next to extinct. That being said, he was alright with it, as he was enjoying the whole process. During this time, he found many early opportunities he was able to capitalize on before most others did such as, adidas Sambas and UGGs. At the end of the year, The Van Soles’ best sellers of 2023 included the adidas Sambas and UGGs, both combining to account for 25% of sales. At the end of the year, Brendon acheived his best month to date, totaling to $130k in revenue between BHL Club and The Van Soles for December 2023.
2024
2024 was another milestone breaking year. On October 14th, we have surpassed the $1M Revenue mark, a milestone that took nearly 5 years. By capitalizing on existing systems and maintaining discipline and consistency, Brendon began incorporating new objectives like daily spending goals and adding more structure to his business routine. In August, Brendon realized the similarities of BHL Club and The Van Soles. He created Bron Distribution on August 30th, 2024, merging both subsidaries under one title. It was recent that Brendon realized that he only has so much time in a day, and began to create a team to work on the business together.
